A 3 × 18 litre recycling bin holds 54 litres, but only 18 of them take general waste — and that is the compartment that fills first. A single 60 litre swing bin is the opposite trade: one large space and nothing sorted.
Brabantia PerfectFit liners are sold by letter rather than by volume: M is the 60 litre bin, L covers 40 to 45 litres, O is 30. The code belongs to the bin model, so read it off the bin or off the old pack instead of estimating.
A swing lid is the cheapest mechanism and needs a free hand. A pedal keeps raw chicken off the lid, and soft-close stops the bang at eleven at night. Most of the bins here are pedal bins, and that pedal is the only moving part in an otherwise static object.
A removable inner bucket means you lift the liner out cleanly and wash the bucket rather than the whole bin. Most of the steel bins here list one; the £12.99 plastic swing bin does not, and that is part of the price difference.
Two compartments of 30 litres suit a household with one mixed recycling collection; three of 18 litres suit separated glass, paper and plastic. Check what is actually collected where you live before buying a layout that leaves one compartment permanently empty.
Measure the gap you are filling, then look at how far the lid swings back. A 68 litre bin that is tall rather than wide can still be unusable under a worktop or a shelf, and a square body wastes less space in a corner than a round one.
Brabantia prints a letter on the bin and on the pack: size M is the 60 litre bin, size L covers 40 to 45 litres and size O is 30 litres. Three of this top ten are liners in exactly those codes. Any bag will fit after a fashion, but the drawstring only seats properly on the matching size.
That depends on your collection rather than on your kitchen. Two 30 litre halves work where recycling goes into one mixed bin; three 18 litre compartments make sense where glass, paper and plastic are separated.
