What matters when buying
Stem charm or rim band
A charm loops around the stem of a wine glass and needs a stem to loop around. A silicone band or strip goes round the bowl of a tumbler or the neck of a bottle instead. If your guests drink from stemless glasses, beer bottles or plastic cups, half of this ranking is the wrong shape.
How many people are coming
Six is a dinner party, 24 to 50 is a wedding, a christening or a village hall. The price per marker in this list runs from about 11p to £2.50, so the count on the pack moves the bill far more than the brand does.
Actually telling them apart
The whole job is that a guest can spot their own glass from across a room. Twenty-four charms in similar pastel florals fail at that; six clearly different figures or colours succeed. Judge a set on how distinguishable the pieces are, not on how pretty the photograph is.
Reusable or disposable
Silicone bands and metal charms both survive a wash and come back out of the drawer next Christmas, which is what separates them from write-on stickers and paper tags. Two entries here state reusable in the title, and that is the difference between a party expense and a permanent item.
Gift box or plain bag
Three of these arrive in a gift box and are priced accordingly at £9.99 to £14.99, against under £3 for the same function loose in a bag. If it is a present the box is most of what you are paying for; if it is for your own kitchen drawer it is dead weight.
What happens in the washing-up
Charms hang on the outside of the glass but end up in the bowl with everything else. Silicone shrugs it off. Painted metal charms and glued-on beads are where the finish comes away, so check the material before a set goes anywhere near a dishwasher.
How the score is calculated — and what it is not
Der Passungs-Score (0–10) ist der nach deinem Bedarf gewichtete Schnitt aus sieben Kriterien — kein eigener Labortest.
The score is not our own hands-on test. It is calculated transparently from public Amazon data: 75% from the average star rating and 25% from the number of reviews, weighted logarithmically. The ranking order itself comes from estimated monthly revenue per ASIN. Prices, ratings and review counts were retrieved from Amazon.co.uk on 22 July 2026 and can change at any time.
