We analysed the Amazon.co.uk subcategory Ham Holders and kept only products with at least 200 reviews and 4.3 stars. Just eight listings in the whole subcategory cleared that bar, five of them recorded no estimated sales at all in the observed month, and the three that did sell earned around £223 between them — one of the thinnest kitchen niches on Amazon.co.uk.

A whole serrano leg runs 70 to 90 cm from hoof to shank, and the stand has to grip both ends of it. The one entry here that publishes dimensions is 41.5 cm long, which describes the base and not the reach — the number that matters is how far the clamp travels, and most listings do not state it.
Three constructions turn up in this small subcategory. A fixed stand is the most rigid, a folding one goes back in the cupboard between Christmases, and a rotating head lets you turn the leg to reach the far side without unclamping it. Carving one leg a year and carving one a month are different problems.
You push a long knife along the bone with real force, so the whole assembly has to stay where you put it. Non-slip pads are the feature named here, and on a polished table or a granite worktop they are the difference between carving and chasing the stand around.
A paleta, the front shoulder, is shorter and narrower than a rear jamon, and a boned or rolled ham needs a different hold altogether. Clamp shapes are built around one of those cases, and buying for the wrong one is the classic mistake in this category.
A leg is carved over weeks, not in an evening, so the exposed face has to be covered between sittings. In this subcategory that is a separate purchase: one listing is a cover, another is a storage bag, and neither is a stand. Budget for both if you are buying a whole leg.

Their estimated monthly sales were zero in the observed period, and their bestseller ranks sit between roughly 600,000 and 3.8 million. They still pass the review filter because those ratings accumulated slowly over many years. Showing them makes the state of the category visible instead of hiding it.
