Five of the ten entries here are cup-and-spoon kits, so a 13-piece set may contain only five or six actual spoons. Count the spoons, not the pieces, before you compare two prices — a spoons-only set of six can cover more measurements than a fourteen-piece kit.
Three systems sit side by side in this list. American recipes want tsp and tbsp fractions, and the U-Taste set goes down to 1/16 tsp. The Rena Chris set carries metric and UK markings on the same spoon. The WOLMIK dosing spoons are marked only in grams and millilitres, which is a different tool entirely.
A wide round bowl will not fit through the neck of a jar, so you end up tipping the jar over the spoon and spilling half of it. Narrow or oval bowls solve this, and one set here is sold specifically on that shape. It matters more day to day than the number of pieces.
Markings printed on the bowl disappear after a few dishwasher cycles, and markings on the underside are unreadable once the spoon is full. Look for the size stamped or engraved on the top of the handle, where you can still see it with a spoonful of flour in your hand.

Stainless steel lasts longest and can be levelled against without flexing, which is why seven of the ten are steel or steel-handled. Nylon is the choice if you scoop out of non-stick pans. Plastic is lightest and cheapest and the only material here that is transparent, which is the point of the dosing spoons.
